Hit-men of Haiti’s President Assassination Tied To Washington
A DEA official just confirmed that one of the two Haitian American men recently arrested for allegedly participating in the assassination of Haiti’s President, was a former DEA informant.
The DEA didn’t specify which Haitian American was the informant but the Miami Herald reported that it was 55 year old Vincent Joseph.
After the assassination took place Vincent Joseph allegedly called the DEA seeking help but in return they just suggested that he should turn himself in.
The details behind the assassination get even stranger because another report by CNN claimed that some of the other suspects had ties to the FBI too.
When the FBI was asked if any of the men who were arrested for the assassination of Haiti’s President were informants for the FBI, they simply responded they don’t reveal any details about their informants due to the fact the information is confidential.
The New York Post had more on the story:
One of the Americans arrested for the assassination of Haiti’s president had been an informant for the Drug Enforcement Administration — the US agency the hit squad had claimed to be working for.
A DEA official confirmed to Reuters that the informant even reached out to his handlers after the hit, as CNN also claimed that “several” of those arrested had also been US informants, including for the FBI.
“One of the suspects in the assassination of Haitian President Jovenel Moïse was a confidential source to the DEA,” the DEA official confirmed to Reuters.
“Following the assassination of President Moïse, the suspect reached out to his contacts at the DEA,” the official wrote in an email also obtained by the Miami Herald.
“A DEA official assigned to Haiti urged the suspect to surrender to local authorities and, along with a US State Department colleague, shared information with the Haitian government that assisted in the surrender and arrest of the suspect and one other individual,” the official said.
A video was released of the assassination and show the suspects yelling “DEA Operation everybody stand down”.
The Daily Mail got the scoop too:
One of the Americans arrested over the assassination of Haitian President Jovenel Moïse was a DEA informant who handed over the warlord responsible for leading the last coup in the Caribbean nation, it has been revealed.
The DEA has admitted one of their ‘confidential sources’ was involved in the assassination, denied it orchestrated the plot and disclosed that he called them after the killing and they advised him to hand himself in.
Joseph Vincent, 55, has been named by sources to the Miami Herald as the DEA informant.
Vincent helped the DEA in 2017 to arrest Guy Philippe, who led a 2004 coup against then-President Jean Bertrand Aristide, on drugs trafficking charges, the sources said. Vincent was with Haitian Police when Philippe was handed over to the DEA at an airport. Philippe is now serving nine years in a US federal prison.
Vincent was one of three US citizens arrested last week on suspicion of being behind Wednesday’s early morning deadly raid on the president’s home. The two others are James Solages, 35, a maintenance worker, and Christian Emmanuel Sanon, a 63-year-old doctor and pastor, who is accused of being the mastermind. 23 Colombians are also under arrest.
A number of the arrested suspects are FBI informants, CNN reported.
Footage from the early Wednesday assassination shows an attacker with an American accent shouting in English ‘this is a DEA operation’ as the hit squad arrived at the president’s mansion.
Haitian police also said they uncovered a hat with DEA emblazoned across it in the home of Sanon – along with a stash of weapons.
As the days go on more and more details show that this assassination had more ties to the U.S. then previously thought.
