Pelosi Skipped Obama’s Birthday Party To Attend “Other Parties,” Report Reveals Why She Couldn’t Go
Democrat Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi claimed on Sunday that she had more important things to do than attend former President Barack Obama’s lavish 60th birthday celebration.
According to the Daily Mail, Pelosi was originally on Obama’s list of over 600 guests, but she was removed following a massive backlash over his ability to violate COVID-19 rules while others were forced to obey them. Pelosi is said to have gone to St. Elizabeth’s Church on Martha’s Vineyard, where Obama had his big celebration, and photographed with supporters outside. According to the Mail, attorney Kevin Blake stood outside the church and asked Pelosi how Obama’s celebration went.
“I didn’t go. I had other parties to go to,” Pelosi said when asked by The Daily Mail about Obama’s birthday bash on Martha’s Vineyard.
Kevin Blake, who was visiting the area from Connecticut, had just finished attending a church service when he asked Pelosi about the party before complimenting the veteran Democratic politician for “keeping the Republicans in check.”
“To be her, the most powerful woman in Congress, and not even go to his party? I find that hilarious,” Blake told The Daily Mail. “And she’s the one carrying forward his agenda.”
Obama’s party — originally planned to have a nearly 500-person guest list along with 200 workers — at the excessively fancy Winnetu, Ocean Resort was shrunk due to public scrutiny on its bad optics.
A Pelosi staff member said that she was on Martha’s Vineyard to attend “private events in support of House Democrats” — and not for the ex-president’s party.
George Clooney, Bruce Springsteen, Beyonce, and Jay-Z were among those who attended the former president’s party. Other celebrities rumored to have partied it up with the president included Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, Jennifer Hudson, Bradley Cooper, Don Cheadle, Gabrielle Union, Dwyane Wade, Erykah Badu, and Steven Colbert.
The Democrat climate czar, John Kerry, reportedly flew to Obama’s party on a private jet. Most of Obama’s far-left guests presumably flew in private as well.
Obama’s guests were free to frolic-free unmasked, while staff members and caterers were required to mask up.
On Monday, a New York Times mouthpiece went on CNN to describe Obama’s invitees as “a sophisticated, vaccinated crowd.”
