Retired U.S. Army Colonel Moves Back To Wyoming To Run Against Liz Cheney
A retired U.S. Army colonel just put Liz Cheney on notice saying he will move back to Wyoming (from California) to challenge Liz Cheney in next year’s Republican U.S. House primary. Cheney is expected to be tossed from GOP leadership as soon as Wednesday after repeatedly going after Trump.
Denton Knapp lives in California but grew up in Gillette where he also graduated from high school in 1983. So far five Republicans have filed paperwork with the Federal Election Commission to run against Cheney in 2022.
Knapp is number six. “What’s missing right now is trust in our elected officials,” Knapp said. “Wyomingites expected Cheney to vote a certain way and she didn’t. As a result, she’s going through consequences.”
